New Nissan Sunny

The Nissan Sunny is a popular sedan from the Japanese Nissan Motor Company Limited. First introduced in 2011 the Sunny has become popular in India in a short time. The Nissan Motors has unveiled a refreshed version of the car during the 2014 Indian auto expo. The largest selling Nissan vehicle in India has been launched finally on 3rd July 2014.

The Sunny comes in 3 petrol and 5 diesel variants priced between Rupees 7.40 to 10.50 lakh. The XE, XL and XL CVT AT are the petrol versions and the XE D, XL D, XV D, XV Platinum pack and XV premium pack are the diesel variants. The XL CVT AT variant has automatic transmission.

New Nissan Sunny

The new Nissan Sunny is now made more eye-catching from the front with the boomerang shaped head lamp fittings having halogen lamps deeply placed in the bumper, a bigger and broader grille with three slats and chrome inserts, an improved bumper with single slat air dam with more chrome around the fog lamp fittings and at the bottom. The side profile has also improved with folding body coloured mirrors housing turn lights and a lot of chrome around windows. The new bumper at the rear has its bottom portion blackened out for a sporty look. Alloy wheel design has been changed to Y-spoke design.

The cabin of the new Sunny is spacious and comfortable. The basic features include 1 air bag for the driver, ABS, EBD, BA, an engine immobilizer, central and child lock facilities, a manual AC, fabric seats, internally operable ORVMs and a partially folding rear seat. The CVT variant has an automatic AC, leather seats, rear parking sensors, power windows, electrical body coloured ORVMs and 2 Din music system with Bluetooth connectivity for phone additionally. The premium pack has 2 air bags, keyless start, rear defogger, electric body coloured ORVMs with turn indicators. In the safety pack rear parking sensor has a camera connected.

The petrol variants of the Sunny are powered by 1498 cc, 98 bhp and 134 NM torque engines giving mileages of 16.95 kmpl. The CVT variant has a fuel efficiency of 17.97 kmpl. The diesel variants have 1461 cc, 85 bhp and 200 NM torque engines with mileages of 22.71 kmpl.

The dimensions of the new Sunny are 4445 mm length, 2500 mm wheel base and 161 mm ground clearance with a boot of 490 litres capacity. The suspensions are McPherson strut at the front and torsion beam at the rear. The tyres are 185/65 R15 type.

The New Nissan Sunny has a spacious, safe cabin and good mileages. The competition comes from sedans like the Honda City, the Maruti Ciaz and the Toyota Etios.
